Gbaramatu Students Rally Stakeholders for Seventh Mega Elective Convention
The National Association of Gbaramatu Students (NAGS) has unveiled plans for its 7th Mega Elective Convention, scheduled to hold from July 24 to 26, 2026, in Kokodiagbene Community, Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State.
Centred on the theme, "Culture and Identity: Preserving the Heritage, Values and Legacy of Our People," the convention seeks to advance conversations on cultural preservation, student leadership and youth empowerment, while celebrating the enduring traditions of the Gbaramatu people.
The event is expected to attract an array of distinguished personalities, including traditional rulers, policymakers, academics, youth advocates and student leaders from across the Niger Delta and beyond.
His Royal Majesty Oboro-Gbaraun II, Aketekpe, Agadagba, the Pere of Gbaramatu Kingdom, will attend as Royal Father of the Day, while the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, will serve as Principal Guest.
Former Deputy Governor of Delta State, Deacon Kingsley Burutu Otuaro, and Professor Benedict Binebai of Niger Delta University are expected to deliver keynote addresses. The President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Comrade Akintoye Babatunde Afeez, alongside other eminent personalities, will also participate.
Organised under the leadership of NAGS President, Comrade Douye Simon, with Comrade Ubebe Kester Denyefa as Chairman of the Convention Planning Committee, the event is expected to reinforce the association's vision of nurturing responsible student leadership while preserving the cultural identity and historical legacy of the Gbaramatu Kingdom.
